Products that got emptied in February

I know I should have posted it yesterday but still I am not that late. Actually this month I have not used much products. Just a shower gel, a roll-on and some other random products.
1. Flama Di Willa shower gel in mild dew
Its a decent product for the price it offers. But the beads in it are useless and the fragrance doesnt stay for long.

2. Sure Dry Shield Roll On
After Nivea Roll on I bagged my hands on this. This fared on me well except that white patches on my skin.

3. Patanjali rosewater
Again a rosewater.. I am getting addicted to it now.

4. Lakme kajal
This one is not as good as lotus kajal but still I managed to finish it up.

5. Lakme lash artist mascara
This mascara from lakme did not curl up my lashes as the maybelline hypercurl one. Still its good. But a little pricey.

6. Ponds BB cream
As I mentioned earlier, this has been a great cream for me. Can also be used as a primer for applying eyeshadows.

So this month was a mix of good and average products for me. Lets see what march brings in stock for me

Joy skin fruits softening fruit pack

I have tried fruit face pack from Lotus, the frujuvinate one and that was good. But it took me a long long time to finish it up and thus I got kinda bored with that.
The skincare junkie in me was shouting for a new face pack and SA convinced me to try this out. Lets see how it fared.

Claims

Improves blood circulation and skin texture, reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Skin gets firmer, nourished, hydrated and rejuvinated. Skin feels alive, refreshed, smoith, moist, super clear and silky soft. (omg that was too much).
Apple is rich in antioxidants, provides vitamin A,B,C and E. Acts as toner, cleanser and an excellent antioxidant for skin to fight wrinkles.

Price
Rupees 65 for 60 ml. Great.

Texture
Not too thick not too runny. Perfect for a face pack

Ingredients
Aqua, kaolin, glycerine Fullers earth, Steraic Acid Glyceryl Monostearate Cetyl Alcohol, Titanium Dioxide, Dimethicone Mineral Oil, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Parabben Wheatgerm Oil, Carboxy Methyl Cellulose Magnesium Aluminium Silicate, Triehanalamine, Sodium Laruryl Sulphate, carbomer, Phenoxyethanol Fragrance, Apple extract

Packaging
It is a white coloured tube with red flip cap. Easy to carry tube.

My take
This is a great face pack. For the price it offers, it can be compared to lotus herbals Frujuvinate and this wins. It was stinging a bit but thats what all fruit face packs do. It brightened my complexion. I felt my skin to be smooth, glowing and happy..

I recommend everyone to try these facepacks. They have it in 4-5 variants. I give it a 4.5 out of 5. I wish it came with less chemicals. Overall I am happy

Maintaining a blog diary

Okay I know that I am old fashioned, I know I can use my phone for this purpose but you see keeping a diary for the blog makes it special in its own way. Writing makes my flow of thoughts faster.

This diary would maintain my pending posts to be put up, reviews that needs to be done, list of emails to be maintained, names of other blogs, pictures to be clicked and everything about the blog.

I just wrote my name and the name of blog. Did not start scribbling yet. But having a physical status of an electronic space is all so special.

Oh by the way,I just brought some highlighters and new pens from flair. I love Flair for its awessome collection of pens.

Do you maintain a blog diary?

5. When I apply it at night, I wake up with a bright smooth skin in the morning.

6. I use it as a massage cream for my homemade facials.

7. When I get my eyebrows threaded, I apply this gel instead of any astringent. Not only it cools but it also soothes my sensitive skin.

8. If I get any rash on my skin, this gel is my saviour.

9. I uuse this gel in everything, be it facepacks, hairpacks, manicure, pedicure and what not.

10. It feels sticky on my skin for first 5 minutes but after that it gets absorbed completely.

Difference between a toner and an astringent

While searching in google I came through many writeups. Some say that rosewater can be used as a toner and some say rosewater can be used as an astringent. They even explain how to make rosewater toner or rosewater astringent. And bammm.. Both the preparations are the same.. so whats the basic difference between the two???

Astringents and toners are similar in the fact that they help absorb excess oil and make sure the
skin doesn’t look shiny. Still, they are a little different from each other.
The main difference lies between the two is that astringents have alcohol content in them while toners do not contain alcohol.. To know the basic difference between skin toner and astringents is to know hot to treat your skin properly.

Astringent helps tighten the pores, acting as a guard from bacteria or oil that could penetrate the pores and cause acne pimples. People with acne prone skin must use astringents but people with sensitive skin should atay away from it. Witch hazel is the best natural astringent. Dry skin should always stay away from toners.

Some toners, called fresheners, work similarly to astringents by tightening the skin, but they are
made of ingredients like caffeine and green tea instead of alcohol. Toners normally consist of moisturizers, oils and extracts that help soothe and hydrate your skin. So hydration is the main key that toners provide. Toners can be used even on sensitive skin because they are natural. These can be used by all skin types so they are a must have.

Both toners and astringents have the same purpose. They serve as a cleanser. Both men and women can use toners or astringents. Nowadays, there are already lots of toner or astringent products that are designated for men which mean that men are becoming more
conscious about their skin and to their whole appearance as well.

Fragrance
I did not feel any fragrance in this balm. Maybe its a very very faint cherry smell.

Availablity

My take
This lip balm is good for daily usage. It glides smoothly on lip. I found it more tinted than maybelline ones but less tinted as compared to nivea fruity shine pomegranate.

Since it has spf 10 it also has sun protection. I am not very satisfied since my mind was taken away by pomegranate one but this is very fine. It imparts good colour and thus I am happy with it. I must say nivea makes awessome lip balms..

I give it a 4 out of 5..

Thankkss

Insight polish cleanser review

As you all know my love for VoV was evergrowing. When my lemon polish cleanser got over I brought home the strawberry polish cleanser. Since VoV has become Insight now, I still love calling it VoV. You know its such a pretty simple name.

Price

Packaging
They have this fun loving colours for their bottles with strawberries and lemons printed on top of the cap on each bottle. I love the packaging

Fragrance
The strawberry one do smells of strawberries and so the lemon one has faint smell of lemons. I mean I never used such cleansers which will have these fragrance. All the cleansers I have tried have typical acetone smell.

On the pack it is written acetone free. And I love it more.

Ingredients
Isopropyl alcohol /butylene glycol / isopropyl myristate / lanolin / butylated hydroxytoluene / caprylic / capric triglyceride / castor oil / vitamin E / eutoxythanol amyl acetate / perfume.

Considering it has castor oil and vitamin E. It is a good buy.

My take
Well it works. I dont require too much of product for my nails and one bottle last me a month. So its pretty cheap considering the price. I have tried the lakme polish remover but this one seems a better pick.

I dont have any complains from the product. I give it a 5 out of 5.

Happyydancee..

Maybelline Hyper Curl Volume Express Mascara review

Sorry for being in a makeup mode right but I am not able to stop myself from taking out all the products from my stash and reviewing them one after another.
This time its a Maybelline mascara. Read furthur to know more.

Price
It is priced at Rupees 200.

Ingredients
Missing (bad)

Packaging
It is a simple black coloured mascara with screw cap. Easy to carry and best to do touch ups.

The brush
The name itself suggests that it is a hypercurl mascara so there has to be a curling effect. The brush is perfectly curved and I have no complaints from it.
This mascara comes in two variants- easy wash and waterproof. I have the easy wash one..

Staying power
I dont require mascara touch ups when I use it. So its lasts for the entire day.
This can be easily washed when you wash your face so yes it is easy wash also.

The curling effect stays for some time but the mascara effect is there. So this is a good mascara.

Availablity
It is easily available at all Maybelline counters and shops.

Overall I think it is a good mascara for this price. Maybelline is a trusted brand but not mentioning the ingredients is a turnoff. It does what it claims and I am happy with it..
I give it a 4.5 out of 5 considering its cons.

Lakme rose powder review

his time its a review about a loose powder. I was in search of a loose powder and the SA showed me this one from lakme. On the pack it is written for warm skin tones but when I swatched it on hand then it blended very effectively and thus I grabbed it. Then he said that the other shade was not available and thus I had no option but to bring this one home.

Now here I would like to comment on the shades. I mean I am very fair skin toned and if warm pink suits me then what about soft pink?? On the pack its written for dusky and wheatish skin toned.. I am confused.. Are you listening Lakme? Anyways lets move on to the product.

Price
Rupees 95 for 40gms. Cool enough. I think Lakme is providing a very good quantity for the it charges.

Packaging
It is a round screw cap packaging which is very easy to use and very travel friendly. It had an okayish puff which I threw away as I use my brush to use it.

Ingredients
Talc, Zinc Sterate Cyclopentasiloxane, Titanium Dioxide, Aluminium hydroxide, Steric Acid, Perfume, Rosa Damascena Extract,Phenoxy Ethanol, Butyl Paraben, Ethyl Paraben, Methyl Paraben, Propyl
Paraben.

Texture
The powder has a very soft texture. It can be used as an after makeup setting powder. I use it that way. It makes my face instantly bring and soft. But I doubt if it will suit dusky skin toned girls because oulverusing this powder makes my face look ghastly.

Availablity.
It is widely available at all local stores and lakme counters.

What I dont like about the prroduct.
1.Well I am a bit confused with the shade name. I
2.On the pack it is mentioned with sunscree but the amount of sunscreen is not mentioned.
3. For using at home it is very good but cannot use it for my regular touch ups. Thumbs down.
4. The puff is useless.
5. Harmful chemicals.

Overall its a budget loose ppwder and I recommend evryone to try it. I give it a 4 out of 5.

Review table-4 body lotions review

The other day when I was reviewing ponds body lotion I came up with an idea of reviewing not one neither two but four body lotions at one go. Yes its raing body lotions at my home!

Coming to the review I have
1. Ponds body lotion reviewed on blog.
2. Vaseline cocoa glow body lotion.
3. Patanjali body lotion
4. Vaseline total moisture body lotion.

Price.
I have seen that all the body lotions are more or less of same price range only. The vaseline cocoa glow body lotion is of 40 ml which is priced at rupees 35. But I am taking price at 100 ml
1. Ponds lotion 100ml-rs. 55
2.vaseline cocoa glow 100ml-rs. 65
3. Patanjali lotion 100ml-rs. 60
4. Vasrline total moisture 100 ml-rs. 55.

So here cocoa glow is expensive.

Ingredients
1.Ponds-reviewed.

2. Vaseline cocoa glow- not mentioned on 40ml bottle but i got it from internet. Water, Petrolatum Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Isopropyl Palmitate, Dimethicone, Stearamide AMP, Glycol Stearate Triethanolamine, Glyceryl Stearate Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Cetyl Alcohol Phenoxyethanol, Perfume Methylparaben, Magnesium Aluminium Silicate, Carbomer,
Titanium Dioxide, Propylparaben, Disodium EDTA Dihydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride,
Caramel, Hydroxethyl Urea Pentasodium Pentetate.

3. Patanjali lotion- Wheat oil, Lodh Extract, Manjisth Extract, Turmeric Extract, Aloe Vera extract Cucumber extract, Saffron.
Base materials: Aqua, Gel Base DiazolidinylUrea and Sugandhit Dravya-Q.S

4. Vaseline total moisture- same as cocoa glow one.

I guess the patanjali body lotion wins in the ingredients.

Fragrance
The vaseline cocoa glow has an amazing fragrance of choclate and vanilla which stays for around an hour. Then the ponds one has nice smell which stays for 4-5hours or so. Then the vaseline total moisture has okay kind of fragrance which does not stay for long. Lastly the patanjali lotion has a typical medicinal smell which fades away after few minutes.
Here the cocoa glow wins

Texture
Accoding to me all the four body lotions have more or less same texture but the ponds one is little runny in texture but I dont mind.

Colour
All the lotions are white in colour

Staying power
The ponds one and the patanjali one stays almost for the entire day while the vaselines ones needs reapplication.

Packaging
The cocoa glow was just a simple small bottle which is fuss free. The other three ones have flip caps. So packaging of all 4 lotions are simple and fuss free.

Ponds body lotion review

These winters I have taken enough care of my skin.when I went for some grocery shopping my eyes went on this body lotion from Ponds. They make great cold creams and lotions and thus I picked it up.

Introduction
This ponds moisturising lotion contains triple vitamins - B3, E and C. Added vitamins is a bonus.

Price and quantity
It is priced at Rupees 55 for 100ml which I find is quite economical as compared to other body lotions. Even the Patanjali one is priced at Rupees 60. So this body lotion wins here. I dont have idea about the price of 300ml bottle.

Packaging
This is a white coloured bottle with pink coloured flip cap. The packaging does not bother me. It is travel friendly also.

Fragrance
It has got a great fragrance. Whenever I apply this body lotion, my entire room gets filled with its fragrance and it stays for about half an hour or so. Thus points for that.

Ingredients
Now this body lotion is filled with chemicals. Loads and loads of chemicals including parabens which I dont prefer in my body lotion. So a turnoff for me. These are water, mineral oil, glycerine, cetearyl alcohol, niacinamide, sodium cetearyl sulphate, dimethicone glyceryl stearate, paraffin, fragrance, microcrystalline wax, cellulose gum, methylparaben, disodium EDTA, DMDM,hydantoin, propylparaben, tocopheryl acetate,
benzophenone-3, BHT, sodium ascorbylphosphate, simethicone.

Texture
It is a white coloured lotion with perfect texture. Very apt for winters. My skin is moisturised throughout the day. It kept my skin moisturised and did not give an oily feeling and so I am happy with this lotion. I have dry arms and legs and it worked perfectly there.

Availablity
Availablity is not an issue. It is widely available.

Travel friendly
Yes it is.

I think it is a good body lotion for the price. If you dont mind chemicals then you can go for it.

Thank you.
